Calasparra
Calasparra is a small town in the beautiful
region of North West Murcia in sunny Spain. Calasparra is conveniently located
about an hour from both Alicante and Murcia's, San Javier airports. During the
summer there are many local fiestas in Calasparra and also the surrounding towns
and villages. The towns of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegin, Cieza, Moratalla and
the wine growing towns of Bullas and Jumilla are all only a short drive away. It
has a friendly population of approximately 10,000 people. Calasparra is well
known in Spain for production of organically grown rice which can be found
cultivated on the banks of the River Segura.
